HRAS speaks at the ‘Boat Refugees and Migrants at Sea’ London conference 24 June 2014

The 2-day London conference organised by The Refugee Law Initiative, University of London, and the Department of Law at Queen Mary University of London, with the financial support of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) and the Human Rights Consortium (HRC) at the School of Advanced Study presented a conference titled ‘Boat Refugees and migrants at sea: a comprehensive approach – integrating maritime security with human rights’.

David Hammond, Founder of the ‘Human Rights at Sea initiative was invited by the organisers to present along with with UNHCR, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on the second day of the conference, exposing the HRAS initiative to the 80 international delegates, including leading legal and academic delegates.
